Books, Books

THE HARRY POTTER SERIES
BY J.K ROWLING

This book made me think about what life would be with magic, how life would change, what if I was Harry Potter? The book had such vivid details, I can't really say I have a favorite. The first of the series was an excellent book, but the later ones were just as awesome! Of course I answered all the questions I asked myself but then. It took a VERY long time though, I imagined it, in every single detail. Waking up knowing you could use magic. Doing almost anything, it amazed me, I have read other books of magic, that were boring.

This book challenged me as a reader because of the many words that made no sense, but are all explained later on in the story. Usually by someone named Hermione, the ms.know it all. But she helps a whole load in the book. Always next to Harry and Ron. One smart, the other isn't as smart, making many accidents. Sometimes I had to reread to see what I had read, as I didn't understand, or I skipped some lines.

Don't read this book (although you should) If you absolutely hate magical things and action and books about some life. (awesome story lines)

iMovie Review

I worked with Justin. While we made the iMovie we had lots of fun. On the first few days we barely focused on working, we used our time wisely only during the last day where we put in all the photos and recorded our voices. Justin out more effort into the work, I on the other hand only worked on the last day which I admit is not good. Can't leave things out till the last day or else it turns out to be horrible!!! We had photo's that had to do with the voices and the timing was great.

We had a few disagreements picking out photos because some had nothing to do with Egypt, like the super Mario bros photo. I was planning on using that photo for Justin to ask "Did they play games like this?''. Also I talked with my friends on the first day so that would be worth changing.

I know Chan Yong as a very nice person and as a very hard worker, he does all of his work correctly. When he is done with his work he goes off to chat with his friends, this isn't good because it wastes others working time.

Presentation of MUMBAI!!!

I think I did well on my voice and information, although I wasn't able to answer all questions correctly. Also I didn't speak to the white board and that is a huge win (I have stage fright sometimes). For other presentations I should double check my information because I had one single fact wrong, Gandhi did not die from starvation, he died from a gun shot. I should write about environmental groups in the city. Without it would sound like a complete dump. It was great listening to others talking about their cities. I learned a lot of history about Korea and a language that was made by a kind. I learned about Delhi and its castles. I had a good clear voice, had good info, answered most questions and never stumbled. I think I did really good by the comments I got after the presentations. I was really scared that they would give me okay comments, giving me advice was really good and they gave me many good things.

New years Resolutions

My first new years resolution is becoming a better trombone player, I have just recently joined band to play the trombone. On my first try it became a great hobby of mine, I have become better since that moment, although still I have stage fright I performed on a concert with the rest of the band. During the concerts I made a few note mistakes. Today I have made a great change and  expecting an ENORMOUS change by the end of the year.

Okay guys.... My second new years resolution is to become way more organized, my locker is a plane plunging from the sky bursting into flames, every second I can see the chances of organization happening becoming lower, just about as low as the inner core actually is. I am pretty sure that if I can't clean it up then I will be late for all of my classes. I hope that something can lift that burning plane higher and that everything will go back to normal.

Let me tell you something you don't know about myself, I used to have cooking lessons (breakfast) and maybe on the third day when we started making things I fell in love with cooking. Almost every Sunday I make breakfast for the family and they say that it was amazing, and just for the sake of being honest I love my cooking.

Working with a partner...

1.The benefits of working with a classmate.
2. Challenges / obstacles which you overcame (tried to overcome).
3. New understandings that you gained about the novel.

Working with a partner leads to two great things. Working more well and can lead to better friendships or new ones.
One challenge was, we both wanted to choose the same passage. We had to work out who would write what passage.
I thought that Jacob was a complete goner when he went to Kenya. Later I realized how skilled he actually is.

Lit circle things

Because of literacy circles I was able to see things from a different point of view. We all had to write about two important passages, questions, connections and vocabulary. We talked about how Jacobs bike was stolen, what happened when he was out in the bush. Jacob confronted a lion, he was shaking, he was still yet he managed to scared it away.

One connection I made was being beat up for a smart card (buy you food) in my old school. Jacob was beat up for money, utensils, a bike and clothes. That was the only connection I had but I had reactions. This was one I didn't right but here it goes. I was amazed when Jacob met a lion. I had thoughts running through my mind. Will he run? Will he get hurt? and many many more things. He managed to scare the lion away by launching his bike tire.

I think that Jacob will find his father safely but they will have HUGE troubles along the way home, his father may be dead already, if the long rains don't come then they might die. Poachers will probably chase them or something. Will someone be there to help? Will Jacob use his skills that he learned along the way to survive? Will Jacob be home before his visa expires? If his visa expires what would happen and what would happen if they get captured?

I took this photo from my web-cam as I had no other time to take or find a photo. This is a alarm clock (if you aren't very smart this means it gives you alarms at certain times, it could wake you up, tell you you need to go party somewhere etc). It has one line of symmetry which goes through the middle of the clock.
